Was exactly a year ago today we started work on Combat-Helo. I really don't know where the time has gone. Happy buffday team, and well done. To commemorate the occasion I dug out one of the earliest screen-shots I could find to compare with one from this afternoon.
And thank you to everyone who's offered kind words of support and encouragement. It all helps.
Sept 2010 - "Herat"
Oct 2009 - "Camp Zero"
Obligatory 'Are we there yet?' :P
ReplyDeleteWow...huge progress! Great performance for a team, which doesnt have shitloads of background people to support the development. Im sure this will evolve into something very special for helicopter sims fans and Im very looking forward to that day. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you. Just looking at the Oct screenshot. That was one month, six weeks(?) of work and the basics of the messaging and crewing were there already. Not to mention the tanks and some HESCO walls. Was that really done so quickly?
ReplyDelete(timestamp says Oct alright)

Most of the early base_ artwork was done in the first weekend of my October holiday if I remember correctly. The Abrams was built in late September and the Bradley a week later.
Combat-Helo has, hands-down, been the most enjoyable and satisfying project I've ever been involved with. The speed of development, fantastic work-flow, combined with the smooth teamwork environment have been equally important in making this a real labour of love.
Cheers and heres to another year of development!
