I'm still hard at work on flight model code so not much to show or talk about. I'm feeling a bit sleep deprived but we're against the clock.
Dave is refreshed from his little break in the sun and has been rendering shadows for the opfor ground vehicles and CH47. I like these "showroom" pictures. Gives me a hankering to play an RTS game.
Veeery nice. Looking forward to see the last row in flames. :-)
ReplyDeleteMe too Pavel.
ReplyDeleteArtillery units? (BM-21, Smerch, 2s1, MSTA-B)
ReplyDeleteDepends on which chassis's we develop. BM-21 is a good choice as it's based on the ural chassis which could then be used for many other vehicles. Iran operates more than a hundred grads, but ironically they operate 4 times as many M-109's!
ReplyDeleteSmerch and MSTA-B aren't used by Iran and I can't help but think giving Iran M-109's in CH would be:
A) Overkill on a 40KMx40KM map. (max range is 30KM)
B)Highly confusing.
Another interesting choice is the Raad-1. It's a Boragh chassis with the 2S1's 122mm turret and main gun.
One variant of the Safir packs 12 107mm tubes and so becomes a highly-mobile artillery platform. 107MM shells have become an Iranian favourite due to portability of the launching system and ease of concealment (because of the short tube length).
Our NATO forces lack some required variation so the next couple of vehicles will probably be NATO specific.
